<h3 id="heading-every-search-engines-mission">Every Search Engine’s Mission</h3>
<p>The primary goal of any search engine is to provide users with the most relevant and user-friendly results. To accomplish this, search engines need to thoroughly understand your website and its intended audience. This entails strategically incorporating high-ranking keywords related to your content to help search engines like Google grasp your website’s purpose effortlessly.</p>
<h2 id="heading-step-1-keyword-research">Step 1: Keyword Research</h2>
<h3 id="heading-identifying-your-target-audience">Identifying Your Target Audience</h3>
<p>To kick off your SEO journey, start with pinpointing your target audience. Utilize tools like Google Ads and Google Analytics to refine your audience targeting. By uploading your user list and leveraging Google Analytics to pass essential user details, you provide Google with a clear picture of your audience, enhancing your targeting precision.</p>
<h3 id="heading-using-keyword-tools">Using Keyword Tools</h3>
<p>Tools such as <a target="_blank" href="https://www.semrush.com/">SEMrush</a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/">Ubersuggest</a> are your best friends when it comes to identifying top-ranking keywords in your industry. Keep a close eye on your competitors’ traffic and snag their high-performing keywords. Integrate these keywords into your content strategy to elevate your SEO game and stay ahead of the curve.</p>
<h3 id="heading-embracing-long-tail-keywords">Embracing Long-Tail Keywords</h3>

Opt for long-tail keywords that align closely with user intent, and steer clear of AI-generated or repetitive content. At Ornaz, we humanized our SEO titles, descriptions, and keywords generated by AI, ensuring authenticity and relevance.</p>

<h2 id="heading-step-3-technical-seo-building-a-solid-foundation">Step 3: Technical SEO: Building a Solid Foundation</h2>
<h3 id="heading-image-compression">Image Compression</h3>

<h3 id="heading-enhancing-site-speed">Enhancing Site Speed</h3>
<p>Speed matters in the digital realm. <h3 id="heading-embracing-ssl">Embracing SSL</h3>
<p>Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is non-negotiable in today’s cyber landscape. By targeting the latest TLS version 1.3, we fortified our website’s security and bolstered our SEO performance. SSL employs multiplexing to enhance load speed. However, SSL chaining can lead to higher SSL/TLS decryption latency.</p>
<h3 id="heading-harnessing-json-ld">Harnessing JSON-LD</h3>
<p>JSON-LD is a potent tool for providing structured data to Google. By embedding JSON-based information within our pages, we enriched Google’s understanding of our content, thereby enhancing our visibility in search results. here are some visible results that come from json-ld data.</p>

But don’t worry—I’m here to guide you through the maze of SEO tactics and strategies to help you get your website ranking higher on search engines. Let’s dive in!</p>
<h2 id="heading-what-is-seo">What is SEO ?</h2>
<p>If you’ve ever wondered how websites climb to the top of search engine results, the answer lies in SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. SEO involves various techniques and strategies to make your site more attractive to search engines like Google. The goal? To get more organic traffic, meaning visitors who find your site naturally through a search engine.</p>
<h2 id="heading-understanding-search-engines">Understanding Search Engines</h2>
<p>Before we jump into the nitty-gritty of SEO, let’s get a quick understanding of how search engines work and why SEO is so crucial.</p>
<ul>
<li><p><strong>How Search Engines Work</strong>: Search engines like Google use complex algorithms to crawl and index the internet’s vast expanse of content. They then rank this content based on relevance and quality. When someone searches for a keyword, the search engine delivers the most pertinent and high-quality results. Your job is to make sure your website is among those top results.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Importance of SEO</strong>: SEO isn’t just about driving traffic—it’s about attracting the right kind of traffic. Good SEO practices help you reach your target audience, improve user experience, and build credibility. Over time, this leads to better brand awareness, more leads, and ultimately, higher sales.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="heading-keyword-research">Keyword Research</h2>
<p>Keywords are the backbone of SEO. They are the terms and phrases that people type into search engines when looking for information. Proper keyword research helps you understand what your potential customers are searching for.</p>
<ul>
<li><p><strong>Identifying Your Target Audience</strong>: Before you can find the right keywords, you need to know who your audience is. What are their interests? What problems are they trying to solve? Creating buyer personas can help you get a clear picture of your target audience.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Using Keyword Tools</strong>: There are several tools available to help you find the best keywords for your site. Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, and SEMrush are some popular options. These tools provide data on search volume, competition, and even suggest related keywords.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Long-Tail Keywords</strong>: While it’s tempting to target broad keywords with high search volumes, long-tail keywords (phrases with three or more words) often yield better results. They are less competitive and more specific, meaning they attract visitors who are more likely to convert.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="heading-on-page-seo">On-Page SEO</h2>
<p>On-page SEO refers to the optimization of individual web pages to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic. This includes optimizing content and HTML source code.</p>
<ul>
<li><p><strong>Optimizing Meta Tags</strong>: Meta tags play a crucial role in how search engines understand and display your content. Let’s break down the two most important ones: title tags and meta descriptions.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Title Tags</strong>: The title tag is the clickable headline that appears on search engine results pages (SERPs). It should be compelling, include your main keyword, and stay under 60 characters to ensure it’s not cut off.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Meta Descriptions</strong>: Meta descriptions provide a brief summary of a web page. Although not a direct ranking factor, a well-written meta description can improve click-through rates. Aim for 150-160 characters, include a call-to-action, and incorporate your target keyword.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Header Tags Optimization</strong>: Header tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.) structure your content, making it easier for both users and search engines to read. Use them to break up your content into digestible sections and include relevant keywords.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Content Optimization</strong>: Content is king in the SEO world. High-quality, relevant content not only engages your audience but also signals to search engines that your site is valuable.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Keyword Placement</strong>: Once you’ve identified your keywords, strategically place them throughout your content. This includes in the title, headers, first paragraph, and naturally throughout the text. Avoid keyword stuffing, which can harm your rankings.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Content Length and Quality</strong>: Longer content tends to perform better in search results. Aim for comprehensive articles that thoroughly cover the topic. Quality matters more than quantity, so ensure your content is well-researched, informative, and free of errors.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Image Optimization</strong>: Images enhance user experience, but they can also slow down your site if not optimized properly. Here’s how to keep your site fast while still looking good.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Alt Text</strong>: Alt text describes an image to search engines. It should be concise and include relevant keywords. This helps with SEO and makes your site more accessible to visually impaired users.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="heading-technical-seo">Technical SEO</h2>
<p>Technical SEO involves optimizing the backend structure of your site. This helps search engines crawl and index your site more effectively.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Image Compression</strong>: Large images can slow down your site. Use tools like TinyPNG or ImageOptim to compress images without sacrificing quality. This improves load times and overall user experience. try using webp/avif format as they are widely supported and also lightweight.</li>
<li><p><strong>Improving Site Speed</strong>: A slow site can frustrate users and negatively impact your rankings. Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to identify and fix issues that are slowing down your site. This could involve optimizing images, leveraging browser caching, and reducing server response times.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Mobile-Friendly Design</strong>: More people are browsing the internet on their phones than ever before. Ensure your site is mobile-friendly by using responsive design, which adjusts the layout based on the user’s device. Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test can help you determine if your site meets the criteria.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)</strong>: Having an SSL certificate ensures that your site is secure, which is a ranking factor for Google. It also builds trust with your visitors, as they see the padlock icon in the address bar, indicating a secure connection.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>JSON-LD</strong>: Implement <code>JSON-LD</code> (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) for structured data markup. It helps search engines understand your content better, improving visibility in search results. JSON-LD allows you to provide detailed information about your site’s content, such as product information, events, or reviews.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>SEO-Friendly HTML5 Tags</strong>: Utilize SEO-friendly HTML5 tags like <code>(header, footer, nav, article, section, aside, main, figure, figcaption, time, address, details, summary)</code>, and others to optimize your site’s structure for search engines. Properly structured HTML enhances crawlability and indexing, improving your site’s overall SEO performance.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Service Worker and Caching</strong>: Integrate a service worker and implement proper caching mechanisms to further enhance website speed. Service workers enable offline functionality and faster page loading by caching resources. Efficient caching reduces server requests, resulting in improved performance and user experience.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Avoid Client-Side Rendering</strong>: Avoid client-side rendering methods that can hinder search engine crawlers’ ability to index your content effectively. Client-side rendering may cause delays in content rendering, impacting SEO. Instead, opt for server-side rendering or pre-rendering techniques to ensure search engine visibility and faster loading times.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Sitemap.xml</strong>: A sitemap.xml file is crucial for search engine optimization as it helps search engine crawlers navigate and index your website effectively. By listing all the URLs on your site along with metadata about each URL, such as when it was last updated and how often it changes, you provide valuable information to search engines. Keeping your sitemap.xml updated with the frequency of content updates, ideally at least weekly, ensures that search engines can discover and index new pages promptly, improving your site’s overall visibility and ranking.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Robots.txt</strong>: The robots.txt file is another essential component of technical SEO that instructs search engine crawlers on which pages of your site to crawl and which to avoid. By specifying directories or files to exclude from indexing, you can prevent search engines from wasting resources on non-essential pages or indexing sensitive information. Properly configuring your robots.txt file ensures that search engines focus their attention on the most important pages of your site, improving crawl efficiency and overall SEO performance.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Data Feeds</strong>: Data feeds are structured data files that provide detailed information about your products, events, or other relevant content. By formatting your data according to specific standards, such as JSON or XML, and submitting it to search engines or other platforms, you enable better indexing and presentation of your content in specialized search results. Data feeds not only improve the accuracy of search engine indexing but also enhance visibility in specialized search features like Google Shopping, increasing your site’s overall visibility and driving more targeted traffic.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Google Search Console</strong>: Google Search Console is a powerful tool that allows you to monitor and optimize your site’s presence in Google search results. By registering your site with Google Search Console and submitting your sitemap and product feeds if applicable, you gain valuable insights into how Google perceives your site and its performance in search results. With features like performance reports, index coverage, and URL inspection, you can identify issues, track improvements, and optimize your site for better visibility and ranking in Google search results.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Canonical Links</strong>:<br />Canonical links play a crucial role in resolving duplicate content issues and consolidating indexing signals for similar or identical pages on your site. By specifying the preferred version of a page with a canonical link element in the HTML header, you inform search engines which version to prioritize for indexing and ranking purposes. This helps prevent duplicate content penalties and ensures that search engines direct traffic and ranking signals to the most relevant page, ultimately improving the overall SEO performance of your site.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Optimizing Anchor Links for SEO Success</strong>: When adding anchor links, ensure to use the proper ‘rel’ attribute to signify the relationship between the linked pages. Additionally, remember that the text used for the link matters significantly in SEO rankings. Choose descriptive and relevant anchor text to enhance your listing’s visibility.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="heading-off-page-seo">Off-Page SEO</h2>
<p>Off-page SEO involves activities outside your website that impact your rankings. This primarily includes building backlinks from other reputable sites.</p>
<ul>
<li><p><strong>Building Backlinks</strong>: Backlinks are like votes of confidence from other websites. The more high-quality backlinks you have, the more authority your site gains in the eyes of search engines. Focus on earning backlinks through guest blogging, influencer outreach, and creating shareable content.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Social Media Integration</strong>: Social media can amplify your SEO efforts by driving traffic and increasing your content’s visibility. Share your content on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to reach a broader audience and encourage sharing.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="heading-local-seo">Local SEO</h2>
<p>If you run a local business, local SEO is essential for attracting customers in your area. Here’s how to make sure you show up in local search results.</p>
<ul>
<li><p><strong>Google My Business</strong>: Setting up and optimizing your Google My Business (GMB) profile can significantly boost your local SEO. Ensure your information is accurate and complete, and encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Local Citations</strong>: Local citations are mentions of your business on other websites, like online directories. Ensure your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) are consistent across all platforms to improve local search visibility.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2 id="heading-monitoring-and-analytics">Monitoring and Analytics</h2>
<p>The final piece of the SEO puzzle is monitoring your efforts and making data-driven decisions to improve your strategy over time.</p>
<ul>
<li><p><strong>Using Google Analytics</strong>: Google Analytics is a powerful tool for tracking your website’s performance. Monitor metrics like organic traffic, bounce rate, and conversion rates to see how well your SEO efforts are paying off.</p>
</li>
<li><p><strong>Tracking SEO Metrics</strong>: Beyond Google Analytics, tools like Google Search Console can provide insights into your search performance. Track metrics like keyword rankings, click-through rates, and backlinks to continually refine your strategy.</p>

<p>🎩 <strong>Pro Tips &amp; Personal Insights:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Two Pointers:</strong> Like sliding windows, but with limited pointers. Great for optimizing solutions.</li>
<li><strong>Sliding Window:</strong> Start with a valid window, add items, and remove them if the window becomes invalid.</li>
<li><strong>Stack:</strong> Think of it as a place to store things for later, in reverse recursive order.</li>
<li><strong>Binary Search:</strong> The magic of reducing your domain on every step to find the item efficiently.</li>
<li><strong>Linked List:</strong> A node that knows only about its adjacent nodes.</li>
<li><strong>Trees:</strong> Do things for one node, then make it recursive for all. Like a domino effect!</li>
<li><strong>Recursion:</strong> A powerful tool to solve problems by breaking them down into smaller, manageable pieces.</li>
<li><strong>Dynamic Programming:</strong> Solve via recursion, add cache, convert into iterative solution, then optimize space. Voila!</li>
<li><strong>Backtracking:</strong> When you need to explore all possible solutions without getting lost. Think of it as your problem-solving GPS.</li>
</ul>
<p>Here’s a neat trick for backtracking:</p>
<p>    backtrack_arr = []
    def rec(i):
        backtrack_arr.append(s[i])
        rec(i+1)
        backtrack_arr.pop()</p>

Here’s a breakdown of how we did it:</p>
<h3 id="heading-backend-servers"><strong>Backend Servers</strong>:</h3>
<p><strong>Nginx as API Gateway (entry point):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Used as a load balancer and routed as per requirement.</li>
<li><strong>Protip:</strong> Avoid regex concatenation to prevent slowing down routing.</li>
<li>Utilized Gzip compression for improved performance (Remember, it comes with a cost).</li>
<li>Dropped SSL at API gateway to increase performance.</li>
<li>Utilized the socket method for proxy_pass or routing to avoid direct connection to localhost: port.</li>
<li>Configured nginx for request pooling at <strong>100 req/sec</strong>.</li>
<li>Added rate limiting at <strong>50 req/sec</strong> per IP.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Django Server:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Acted as a single source of truth for most services.</li>
<li>Used Gunicorn with Django, configured with <strong>3 workers</strong>.</li>
<li>Utilized <strong>2 master and 3 slave database servers</strong> for optimized results.</li>
<li>Implemented Redis-server for caching commonly used data.</li>
<li>Used template caching for SSR pages.</li>
<li>Achieved an API response time of <strong>50-100 ms</strong> under normal traffic.</li>
<li>Added API rate limiter as per the use case.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Celery Worker:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Used for all cron tasks, long-running tasks, emails/SMS, etc. to avoid blocking user responses.</li>
<li>Improved API responses by <strong>80-90%</strong>.</li>
<li>Enabled the main server to focus more on serving user requests.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Cache-Server (ExpressJs):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Implemented <strong>cache.ornaz.com</strong> (express-based server) to reduce the load on the main server.</li>
<li>Reduced main server load by <strong>70%</strong>.</li>
<li>Decreased API response time to <strong>30-60 ms</strong>.</li>
<li>Utilized pm2 for management and multiple threads to serve requests.</li>
<li>Used a shared global in-memory cache to serve content, ensuring website functionality even if the main server is down.</li>
<li>Served inventory APIs and SEO APIs to get SEO details along with JSON-LD data.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Logging Server (Express-based service):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Reduced server load on the main server by adding a microservice for logging <strong>logging.ornaz.com</strong> .</li>
<li>Triggered all campaign events for further processing.</li>
<li>Used for running marketing campaigns, user journey flow, and conversion funnels.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Monitoring Server:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Utilized Prometheus and Grafana to monitor all nodes’ detailed metrics in real-time.</li>
<li>Used Sentry to monitor errors.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Campaign Service:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Utilized a third-party service for creating campaigns (sending WhatsApp messages, emails, push notifications) based on user journey/conversion flows.</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="heading-frontend-servers"><strong>Frontend Servers</strong>:</h3>
<p><strong>React-Native (Mobile):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Utilized for mobile-web, Android app, and iOS app.</li>
<li>Utilized React-Native web to create a static JS client-side server, served from CDN.</li>
<li>Used CDN for fast serving (<strong>28 ms</strong> response time).</li>
<li>Utilized service workers to cache everything that is not user-specific, ensuring offline functionality.</li>
<li>Cached APIs at the service-worker level, further reducing server load.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Next.js Server (Desktop):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Utilized for desktop-web and SEO purposes.</li>
<li>Leveraged Next.js (SSG + ISR + CSR) for SEO-specific websites.</li>
<li>Focused on SEO-friendly HTML and followed Google’s recommendations for SEO.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Django server (Fallback):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Used as a fallback to serve pages exploiting the MVT Framework.</li>
<li>Served campaign-based pages that were changed daily, ensuring a seamless user experience.</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="heading-frontend-optimization"><strong>Frontend Optimization:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Used code splitting and lazy load whenever possible in an effective manner.</li>
<li>Served static content from CDN with caching for more than <strong>2 weeks</strong>.</li>
<li>Utilized service worker to cache APIs.</li>
<li>Preloaded main-banner assets.</li>
<li>Pre-connected domains.</li>
<li>Minimized the number of domains and APIs hit, combining APIs when possible, and avoiding request chaining.</li>
<li>Used async/await efficiently, with careful consideration.</li>
<li>Split CSS and JS modules as per loading order.</li>
<li>Converted images into webP (Avif can also be used) and served them from CDN.</li>
<li>Used srcsets with thumbnails for images &gt; <strong>300px</strong> render size.</li>
<li>Maintained a <strong>1:1.5 ratio</strong> for intrinsic size: render size.</li>
<li>Utilized well-maintained schema/state/store for hydration.</li>
<li>Always preferred HTML5 SEO-friendly elements.</li>
<li>Avoided extra DOM elements.</li>
<li>Stayed aware of content layout shifts.</li>
<li>Meta tags were crucial for SEO, refer to <strong>ornaz.com</strong> for best practices.</li>
<li><strong>Protip:</strong> Used Lighthouse to check for errors and fixed them.</li>
</ul>
